He applied for a Revolutionary War pension, Feb 13, 1826 at the age of 86. It state that at the time of his enlistment, he was living in Cumberland Co., VA and then settled in Kentucky. He was engaged in the battles of Savannah, Brier Creek and Stono.

The pension application lists his second wife, her age and the date of their
marriage. The application was approved.

William Bond served as a private from Virginia for 3 years, and participated in the following battles: Savannah, Brier Creek. Service description: Capts. Moseley and Carrington. 1st Regiment, CL

He was a Revolutionary War soldier and his place of residence during the war as Cumberland Co., VA. He emigrated to Kentucky in its early settlement.

Was his first wife, and mother of most of his children, Frances Ballou or Judith Sandige? This is the subject of considerable discussion and controversy. In his pension application, he clearly states that Sarah Cranston is his second wife. There were not three marriages.

She was 60 years old in 1826 on the Revolutionary War pension application for William Bond.

In her will dated 10 Oct 1831, she leaves her estate to Elizabeth Holman, Aisley Utterback and Thompson Frazier's children by "my daughter Martha: Jefferson, Elizabeth, Reuben and James Frazier. Sons are not mentioned. Predeceased her?
